Halloween and Thanksgiving.

Thought I'd give a little shout out to the major holidays that have passed. I dressed up like a girl from the 80's for halloween and ended up looking like Jenna Rink from 13 going on 30 so I went with it. My roommate Debbie was Miss Frizzle from the Magic School Bus. Amazing! She made her whole outfit. She also made our other roommate's costume. Morgan is Pocahontas. Super cute! We also carved pumpkins for FHE. People always think the pumpkin I carved is the boy from Where the Wild Things Are, but it isn't. It is a little character that my friend Drew always draws. I haven't seen Drew in quite a while, so I made the pumpkin for him.

For thanksgiving I got to go visit my sister Mel in Spokane. I almost couldn't get a ride, so I was really happy to be there. While I was there we decorated sugar cookies one night and made a mini gingerbread village another night. We had a blast spending time together and had a great Thanksgiving dinner with her boyfriend Glenn's family.

So its been a year...

Here I am sitting on my parents couch once again for Christmas break. So as you have probably noticed I'm not very good at writing on my blog. I'll give you a little update on my life. I just finished Fall semester at BYU-Idaho. I got straight A's! I'm pretty excited about that. I had a really busy semester and no social life, but it paid off. :) I took five classes and did an internship so that does not leave much time for anything else. I had a lot of fun classes though. In one of my classes we trained baby chickens and then rats. My rat's name was Socrates. We taught him to climb from our foot to our shoulder, to run through a maze, and to jump from one desk to another. He is able to jump 3 and a half feet! It was a lot of fun and I learned a lot. I also took a family history class. I learned so much in this class and got to learn tons about my family. I even got some work done for my family members. It was great and something I'm g
oing to keep doing now that I know how.

My internship was another thing that took up a lot of my time, but was so much fun. I worked at a Juvenile Correction Center with about 12 boys who had all been ordered their by judges. They had to work their way through a program and participate in group counseling. I got to watch this whole process and really get to know the boys. The boys did everything together as a group and were responsible for keeping each other in line. The program uses peer pressure in a good way. I got to learn the group dynamics and watch these boys change their lives around.

I also had the opportunity to go to the reception of my very dear friend Janae. She got married in November and her and her family are very important to me so it was so wonderful to be able to go be with them. She was married in the Salt Lake Temple for time and all eternity. Here are some pictures of her and her new husband. Also her parents and grandmother. They are wonderful people that have touched my life.
